Let’s Go Nats!

Normally Jill writes all the wonderful posts that you see here on our blog, but today will be a little different. So nothing is better than a dad taking his kid to the game. Some of my fondest memories of my youth are my parents and I going to old Memorial Stadium to watch the Orioles play. Cal Ripken, Eddie Murray, Larry Sheets, and, the crafty lefty Tippy Martinez, all played a part in my love of baseball.

Well on Monday, we decided to do something spontaneous and quite unlike us. We decided to go to a Washington Nationals game! Jill and I normally don’t make last minute decisions, especially when they involve us going downtown; however, Jill’s manager had two club seats available (note: indoor bar for me and good food and AC for Jill), so off we went to enjoy the game. We had a great time and the Nat’s pulled out a victory over the evil Pittsburgh Pirates. Jill was fan watching and got a good view of her future with me, watching the guy next to her keep score while his wife chatted on the phone. I even got to met Mike Rizzo, the GM of the team (editor’s note: Jill was in the bathroom at the time but probably has no idea who he is anyway).

Even little baby Cross got into the act according to Jill. Jumping and hopping around in the womb to “Go Nats GO!!” Just makes me realize the joys I will have taking my kids to a baseball game in the future.
