Hurricane Sandy and More!

We survived Hurricane Sandy that made it's way up the mid-Atlantic and devastated the North East.  Thankfully we only dealt with rain and high-winds which kept Grady up one night.  My sister goes to school in West Virginia and her town was dumped with almost 2 feet of snow!  My dad went to pick Megan and her roommate up on Thursday.  He brought them back to their house for hot showers and electricity!

Playing in a basket is more fun!


Last Friday Grady woke up in the morning with a very high fever. Matt stayed home with him and I went to work.  After some Tylenol, Grady was starting to feel better and he went out with Daddy to the grocery store to stock up on Hurricane supplies - namely milk - and get a prescription.  All the sudden Matt looked down to see Grady shivering in the buggy - his fever had come back.  They returned home and Matt put him down for his nap where he slept for almost 3 hours!  When he finally woke up from the longest nap ever, Matt took his temperature and it was 103 degrees!  He took him to doctor's office where he was tested for strep - it was negative.  The doctor said that it was probably the roseola virus.  She said that the fevers would last for about another day, then stop abruptly, and finally a rash would appear on his body.  Sure enough about a day after his fevers stopped, the distinctive roseola rash started on his chest and back.

I finally found my camera cord and can transfer images from our small camera - hooray! I'm sorry for the delay in posting these pictures. 

In September my sorority hosted an alumnae event and I went back to Longwood with one of my girlfriends. It's amazing how different the campus looks and how much stuff is in Farmville now.  Of course some things never change...

September was a busy month for us - Matt and I celebrated our sixth wedding anniversary.  My mom came over to watch Grady and we went to Corcoran Vineyards for some beer and wine tasting.  Afterwards we had an early dinner at Tuscarora Mill in Leesburg.
